About this chart

Motiv rates every ball's length, backend and hook from 0 to 100 and its flare potential in inches, and places its current balls on its ball guide by the oil they suit and how smooth or angular their motion is. The chart plots any two of them against each other. Balls close together react alike on those two scales.

Length
How far down the lane the ball goes before it starts to hook: the higher, the longer it skids. Rated by Motiv from 0 to 100.
Backend
How sharply the ball turns at the breakpoint: the higher, the more angular its move to the pocket. Rated by Motiv from 0 to 100.
Hook
How much the ball hooks in all, which is what it can handle in oil: the higher, the stronger. Rated by Motiv from 0 to 100.
Flare Potential
How far the ball's track can flare as it rolls, in inches; Motiv gives each ball's as at least so many (7"+). More flare keeps bringing fresh cover into contact with the lane, which adds hook.

To line balls up on a single scale, use the Arsenal Ladder; to find the balls closest to one ball on all four, the Look-alikes.
